Pattern: little pouch with strawberry lock

I never know where to keep my bills and guarantees. I usually plan to put them in a folder, but somehow they never end up there. Or I misplace the folder.
So I made this pouch to keep my bills in a safe and pretty place.

The pattern is quite simple and the pouch is easy and quick to make.

P.S. You can also use it for tissues or Makeup :-D

Material:

  • Yarn (cotton or mixed qualities) Sport in different shades of green
  • Yarn (cotton) worsted weight red and white
  • wooden beads

Instructions:

We are working with: US terms: chains, slip stitches, single crochets, half double crochets, double crochets

final measures: 10x16cm

chain 40 (or more or less if needed)
work 1st row in backloops
make as many rows as needed to get about 20cm. You can alter colors and stitches (sc, hdc and dc) as you desire.

Flap: continue altering color and stitch as desired, begin each row with a slst, and end it in the second last chain. The first row will be 38 stitches, the next 36 etc. You should end up with about 4cm of flap. I made 6 rows and ended up with 28 stitches. (you can also dec2tog in the beginning and end of each row)
finish off.

Fold up the lower part with the 40 chains so that the edge ends about 1,5cm underneath the beginning of the flap-rows.
Sew together the sides using whip stitches and also rim the flap.

Starting in the middle of the flap slst and chain about 40cm. Thread some beads and make a knot.

Strawberry (from 100 bezaubernde Häkel-Minis)

Fruit:
ch 2
1. row: 2 sc in the second chain from hook
2.-5. row: ch 1, 2 sc in first ch, 1 sc in the rest
6. und 7. Reihe: ch 1, 6 sc
8. row: dec2tog, 2 sc, dec2tog (4)
9. row: 2x dec2tog (2)
sc around, make 3 sc into the tip and the 2 tops
finish off.
Make some V stitches using white thread.

Leaves:
ch 6
1 sc in 3rd ch from hook, 2 dc, 1 sc
repeat 2 times * ch 4, 1 sc into 2nd chain, 1 dc, 1 sc,
ch 5, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 2 dc, 1 sc*

Sew leaves onto strawberry, sew strawberry onto pouch, where hte chain is attached.

The chain and strawberry work as lock. Wrap the chain around the pouch once and twice around the strawberry.

I hope you like the pouch. Mine is already filled, next time I'll have to make a larger one :-)

If you have any questions about the pattern please leave a comment.
